Should I be recording my child’s practice?

One of the best things you can do for both your child and your piano teacher is record how often, how long for and what is being practiced. This way, not only you can see how much your student is doing a week and how they progress each lesson with their teacher, but your piano teacher will thank you oh so very much for the in-depth view into what their students practice and how they go about it. Us as teachers can then see if we are giving too little or too much material each week and how effectively we can prepare our students to practice after each lesson.
